Date

15th - 18th October 2026

Starts: Thursday , 17:00

Ends: Sunday, 14:00

at Velosimed center, Kokra 72, 4205 Preddvor, Slovenia

Holotropic Breathwork

offers a way of entering non-ordinary states of consciousness through deeper and accelerated breathing, evocative music, and focused bodywork. What emerges in such a state cannot be planned.Sometimes the experience brings us close to our personal history and emotions.

Sometimes it unfolds primarily through the body. At other times it may open into symbolic, archetypal or transpersonal dimensions of experience.

We do not try to determine where the process should go. Our task is to create a safe and supportive setting in which your own inner process can unfold in its own way and at its own pace.

At the Velosimed Center in the Slovenian Alps, we work in small groups and give this process time. Kokra valley, where the workshops take place, is surrounded by Kamniško-Savinjske Alps, peaceful forests, with wild creeks filling the crystal clear Kokra river. It is a great place for relaxation, walks, running, climbing, hiking, or cycling. By spending an extra day or two, you could even hike some mountains alone or with certified guides on well-marked trails. Or just relax in the nature, or in our sauna.

Perhaps you are not looking for an answer

People come to Holotropic Breathwork for very different reasons.

Some arrive at a turning point in their lives. Some encounter emotional or relational patterns that they understand intellectually, yet feel that understanding alone has not changed them.

Others come without a particular problem.

There may simply be curiosity.

A sense that beneath our familiar ways of thinking about ourselves there is another layer of experience that cannot be reached through thinking alone.

Holotropic Breathwork does not offer a predetermined answer to these questions.

Instead, it creates conditions in which we can temporarily loosen our habitual way of organizing experience and allow something less controlled — and sometimes surprisingly intelligent — to emerge.

Stanislav Grof described this capacity as an inner healing intelligence: an inherent tendency of the psyche toward movement, integration, and greater wholeness when appropriate conditions are provided.

We take this idea seriously.

It means that we do not try to manufacture catharsis, direct your experience, or decide what should happen.

Sometimes a powerful process unfolds.

Sometimes something very quiet happens.

Both may be equally meaningful.

Why 2+2?

A single Holotropic Breathwork session can open an important process. But inner processes do not necessarily follow the timetable of a workshop.

This is why we value the 2+2 format.

During four days you breathe twice and twice accompany another participant as a sitter.

The first session may open something that continues to work quietly afterwards. The second session does not simply repeat the first. It may deepen the process, move in an entirely different direction, or bring something that could not yet emerge before.

Between the two there is time.

Time to sleep.

Time to walk.

Time to draw a mandala or speak about the experience.

Time to forge new, meaningful friendships.

And also time not to understand the experience immediately.

We consider this space between experiences an important part of the work.

Not everything that happens in a non-ordinary state needs to be interpreted. Sometimes experience needs first to be lived, felt and allowed to settle.

Role of a sitter

Sitting beside another human being for several hours without trying to fix, direct or interpret their process can become a profound experience in itself.

We practise something very simple and surprisingly difficult: being present without interfering.

For us this principle is also at the heart of facilitation.

What will happen during the four days?

Thursday

We arrive, meet each other and slowly create the setting for the work ahead.

There is time for preparation, questions and an introduction to Holotropic Breathwork, including practical and safety aspects of the process.

Friday and Saturday

The main Holotropic Breathwork sessions take place.

Each participant experiences two sessions as a breather and two as a sitter.

There is time between and after the sessions for rest, mandala drawing, sharing and integration.

Sunday

We devote the final part of the intensive to integration and closing the process before returning to everyday life.

Holding the process

We have been organizing workshops continuously since 2010. Despite our years of experience, we never underestimate the processes.

Non-ordinary states can open very different layers of experience. They may bring joy, stillness, grief, fear, bodily intensity, memories, images, existential questions or experiences that are difficult to put into words.

For this reason, the quality of the setting matters.

At Velosimed, Holotropic Breathwork is not treated as a technique that produces an experience.

We understand it as a process that requires preparation, careful holding and thorough integration.

Our facilitators have backgrounds in psychotherapy, Holotropic Breathwork and work with non-ordinary states of consciousness.

We remain available throughout the process.

If something difficult emerges, you do not have to manage it alone.

At the same time, support does not mean taking the process away from you.

Whenever possible, we follow rather than lead.
